We need our stomach acids to be about 1.9 on the pH scale, so as much as we like to drink water before we eat, it may not be a great decision. Water can have a pH level of 7 which is considered neutral or higher depending on the mineral content of the water. What happens with drinking water before meals is that we reduce the acid levels in our stomach making our stomachs more alkaline. We require our stomach acids to work in the digestion of our foods, so try and not drink water just before, during or just after your meal.
A great way to boost your acid levels to aid in digestion is to have Apple Cider Vinegar first thing in the morning or even before each meal. This will help increase your ability to break down foods and absorb the nutrients that these foods deliver to our bodies.
Apple Cider Vinegar also helps:
- Lowers Cholesterol
- Helps Reduce Blood Sugar Level
- Helps with Food Cravings
- Improves the Health of your Gut (your second brain)
- Helps Detoxifies your Digestive System
- Helps Fight off Bacteria
- Helps with Heartburn and Reflux
Try using Apple Cider Vinegar first thing in the morning. Start with 1 teaspoon then work up to 1 tablespoon in warm water and I like to add 2 drops of DoTERRA Lemon Essential Oils. (You can use 1/2 lemon, but be mindful that the lemon can take the enamel off your teeth.)
Make sure the brand of Apple Cider Vinegar that you buy has the ‘Mother’ in it Bragg in a good brand
