H2O Why is it so Important

May seem like a silly statement, but how many of us, myself included don’t drink enough water.  Did you know the only OXYGEN is more important to sustaining human life than WATER.. Water is essential in dissolving and the transporting of nutrients such as oxygen and mineral salts via the blood, lymph, and other bodily fluids. Water also keeps the bodies pressure, acidity, and chemical reactions in balance.

Did you know that a human being can only live for 5 day’s without water. Having a dry mouth is simply the very last sign of dehydration.  The human body requires on average, around 2 litres per day. If you have a higher level of activity or a higher salt intake, you would require more than the average. Thirst is a good indicator of what the body requires

To be able to absorb water your body needs calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and chloride.  These minerals communicate with each other to keep a balance in their levels, otherwise it would be difficult for water to enter the cell.  You often hear people say when they get a cramp that they need more magnesium?  If the water cannot enter the cell because the mineral balance is out then it will accumulate on the outside of the cell creating fluid retention, this will make you feel uncomfortable in your clothes.

Try measuring the amount of water you consume each day, then look at your mineral intake, remember you can increase your mineral intake by having more Leafy Greens, Nuts, Seeds, and Himalayan Pink Salt.

So let’s get Drinking WATER
